Como si estuviera cantado de antemano The Band’s Visit ha arrasado en una nueva edición de los Premios Tony, la edición número 72 de los premios del Teatro americano. La obra musical The Band’s Visit, basada en la película israelí del mismo título obtuvo 10 premios Tony, de los 11 a los que estaba nominada. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child ganó seis premios y Angels in America ganó 3.
La ceremonia se celebró en Nueva York, en el Radio City Music Hall, y la presentación corrió a cargo de Sara Bareilles y Josh Groban. Bruce Springsteen se llevó por cierto un Tony honorífico, por sus conciertos en Broadway.
