Se ha celebrado una nueva edición de los premios country, los premios de la ACM, en su edición número 52 desde el T-Mobile Arena, en Las Vegas, Nevada. Volvieron a presentar por segundo año consecutivo Dierks Bentley y Luke Bryan, aunque para Bryan, es su quinto año consecutivo presentando. Como viene siendo habitual, el primer domingo de abril fue la cita.
También como norma numerosas actuaciones donde predominaron las colaboraciones, como la que abrió la gala, en un medley con Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban y Carrie Underwood. Sin duda el momento de la noche fue la actuación de Florida Georgia Line con los Backstreet Boys, la actuación cerró la noche y fue un broche de oro a los premios.
También destacó Miranda Lambert con su Tin Man y el dúo entre Faith Hill y Tim McGraw, en una de las canciones de la noche, porque Speak to a girl ya es uno de los grandes éxitos del momento. Una de las nuevas figuras, Lauren Daigle, junto a una gran veterana como Reba McEntire, interpretaron Back to God. Esta vez estuvo mucho mejor el dúo de Keith Urban con Carrie Underwood en la estupenda The fighter, mucho mejor que en los Grammy.
También destacaron Thomas Rhett con su nuevo éxito, la colaboración con Maren Morris, Craving you y el homenaje que hicieron Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley y Joe Walsh a Chuck Berry, con Johnny B. Goode.
En los premios, por segundo año consecutivo Jason Aldean se llevó el premio grande, Entertainer of the year. Miranda Lambert ganó el premio a la vocalista femenina, casi como cada año son ya 8 veces, pero además añadió el de mejor álbum del año por The weight of these wings. Florida Georgia Line con HOLY ganó el single del año y Thomas Rhett con Die a happy man, la canción del año. Esta vez Humble and kind de Tim McGraw se fue de vacío aunque Lorenna McKenit se llevó el premio a la compositora del año.
El vídeo del año fue para Forever country, que sorpresivamente perdieron el premio de colaboración en beneficio de Florida Georgia Line con Tim McGraw. Thomas Rhett ganó el premio al artista masculino y Little Big Town, el premio al grupo.
